Dear All,
The annual World Sunday for Grandparents and the Elderly will take place on 24 July, the Sunday closest to the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, Grandparents of Jesus. The theme chosen by the Pope: “In old age they will still bear fruit” (Psalm 92:15), to emphasize how grandparents and the elderly are a value and a gift both for society and for ecclesial communities.
The elderly must not be forgotten, the pastoral care of the elderly is a priority that can no longer be postponed by any Christian community. Place the elderly at the center of the life of our communities every day. Ensure “no one lives this day in loneliness.”
