Wednesday 21 September 2016 is the International Day of Peace, which is observed and celebrated by nations around the world every year on this day.
This year, the theme designated by the United Nations is “The Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace.”
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals aim to build a more prosperous and fair world for everyone, ending poverty and building a sustainable future. According to the UN, “The Sustainable Development Goals are integral to achieving peace in our time, as development and peace are interdependent and mutually reinforcing.”
