During the last weekend in November, the Global Climate March took place in cities all over the world. Here are some of the highlights from the march (provided by the Global Catholic Climate Movement):
This weekend’s Global Climate March was the largest climate mobilization in history. Over 785,000 of you participated in 2,300 events in 175 countries.
And we are proud to say that our Global Catholic Climate Movement played a major role, as thousands of Catholics from all continents joined the march, following the lead of our brave Pope Francis.

Pope Francis just participated in the Global Climate March, by sending his shoes to join the thousands of shoes displayed at the Place de la République in Paris. The shoes were on display to represent the 300,000 Parisians who were supposed to begin the Paris Climate March from that location. The march was cancelled by the French government in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
It was Cardinal Hummes who brought the shoes (together with the shoes of Cardinal Turkson and Cardinal Hummes himself, located on the left and right of the Pope’s shoes).
