The Encyclical’s release today marks a transformation in the way in which the world thinks about the climate crisis. Pope Francis has made it clear that climate action is an act of faith, it’s a moral duty we all share.
Today also gives me hope, because it is a day on which the world once again looks to faith for guidance through difficult times. Although I am not a Catholic, I feel proud to see religion out in front, lighting the way for our human family to follow.
On Sunday 28th June, at 12 noon local time, people around the world will be ringing out a chorus of support for the Encyclical. We’ll be ringing bells and gongs, sounding Shofars, singing and dancing. All to show the world that the time to act is now, and there is hope.

At the middle of all this is Rome. Thousands of people will be marching to St. Peter’s Square with the message that we are One Earth, One Human Family.
Join us, lend your bells, feet and voices to that day, help let out an almighty chorus of hope that politicians will find impossible to ignore.
