Australians facing the death penalty in Indonesia

The Indonesian Government resumed the execution of death row inmates last weekend as part of its tough on drugs stance.

Two Australians are among those facing death by firing squad. Myuran Sukamaran and Andrew Chan were arrested in April 2005 for trafficking drugs. Following a lengthy judicial process and unsuccessful appeals against the death sentence, both lodged appeals for clemency with the President.

Myuran recently had his appeal for clemency rejected and Andrew is awaiting the outcome of his.
